Q. How do I get a Library card?

Answer

Birkbeck students: Your Birkbeck student ID card is also your Library card. It will be activated for use in the Library once you are fully enrolled. More details are on the Student Services web site.

If you lose your student card please contact the Student Advice Service.

Birkbeck staff: Your Birkbeck ID card is also your Library card. If you lose your Birkbeck ID card visit the Estates & Facilities Help Desk in room G20, phone extension 2001 or email staffaccess@bbk.ac.uk.

Visitors: If you do not have a current Birkbeck ID card you may be eligible to apply for Library membership. Please note that all applicants should bring a small photo of themselves. More information is here.

Forgotten card: If you have forgotten your card you may be able to gain access to the Library with a one-day pass as long as you have some other form of photo ID with you. Students and staff with a Birkbeck username and password can print a day pass using the self-service day pass kiosk at the Library entrance.
