How do I download the Kortext app?
To download the Kortext app, you have to 'borrow' a book from Kortext first. You can do this by searching for 'kortext' on the library catalogue. Click the link to access the e-book and log in with your username, e.g. asmith72 and your Birkbeck password.
Once you have borrowed at least one book, you can access Kortext books online, or through the Kortext app, which has more features and allows offline reading. When you have logged into a Kortext book, it creates a Kortext account with your Birkbeck email address, [USERNAME]@student.bbk.ac.uk. If you then go to the password reset link on Kortext and enter [USERNAME]@student.bbk.ac.uk, it will send you an email to reset the password.
When you have reset the password, you can sign in to Kortext.com with your Birkbeck email address and password in the top right, but before signing in, you can scroll to the bottom of that page and you will see ‘Download for’ Mac, Android and Windows 10 links to download the Kortext app. You can also search for Kortext in your mobile app store.
You can continue to add books to your Kortext account either by searching the Birkbeck library catalogue and including ‘kortext' in the search, or the other way is to log into Kortext.com on a web browser, go to ‘Collections’ and search for books there.
