How do I access electronic resources?

Answer

To access online electronic resources through the library, whether that is e-books, journal articles or databases, you should use your Birkbeck username, e.g. zsmith09, and your Birkbeck password.

Your email address, e.g. zmith09@student.bbk.ac.uk, will not work in most cases.

A few resources require you to log into OpenAthens before you can enter your username and password. For this, search for 'Birkbeck' as the organisation.

There are a few exceptions where your email address is required, including Capital IQ, Safari Books Online and FT.com if you authenticate through the website.
